I can look back to where I came from, knowing that my past experience brought me to High Tech all the way from Texas. The Project-Based Learning environment and the freedom to create and learn in a variety of ways drew me to San Diego. In Texas (El Paso) I worked as an educator for 10 years both as math teacher, administrator, coach, and most satisfying, a Director of Outdoor Education. I love the active learning that the outdoors brings to the classroom and it is the same in a High Tech classroom. I am going on my 8th year at High Tech and have loved every minute of it. I started teaching at one of the middle schools, High Tech Middle Media Arts, helping to open that school. In 2012, I came down to Chula Vista to open this school plus it was a bonus as I live in this community. I love teaching math and most of all, making it fun, applicable to my students.
I love being active and hanging out with my family and friends. The love of my life , Julie, has given me two beautiful children: Gavin, 11 and Bella, 7. Together we travel, play at the beach, and stay busy doing all sorts of things. When I am not teaching, you might find me playing golf, surfing, hiking, fishing with my son or even doing something crazy like skydiving, camping, P90Xing or mountain biking.
